Ice etiquette is about safety and respect
At the Canadian Ice Academy, we put safety first. The safety of our students, coaches, staff and volunteers is our number one priority.
We also pride ourselves on making our programs safe learning environments - through respect, adhering to ice safety rules, and keeping communication open between coaches, staff, students and parents.

Respect your opponents, team members, coaches, volunteers, and spectators.

Respect the ice space and the Canadian Ice Academy’s rules for taking care of the ice. This includes ensuring you are not intentionally causing damage to the ice, you are not making the ice dangerous for others, and that you are leaving the ice in a similar condition to how you found it.

Respect decisions made by officials.

Let the Canadian Ice Academy know if you notice any ice concerns.

Show good sportsmanship on and off the ice. Ice etiquette extends to the changerooms, classrooms, and lobby.

Spectators must show respect to our athletes and fellow viewers. Yelling, disrespecting, backtalking or intentionally blocking others from seeing the game or performance will not be tolerated.

Report any rule or etiquette violations to your coach or Academy staff.
